There are other terms that may apply to you
Our Privacy & Cookies Policy explains how we process personal data.
If you enter a Hunt, our Competition Terms & Conditions apply. Information about entering without payment is set out on our Free Entry page.
We may make changes to these terms
We may amend these Website Terms from time to time. Every time you use our site, please check the current terms. Changes to these Website Terms do not alter the rules of an existing Hunt where the Competition Terms & Conditions prevent such a change.
We may make changes to our site
We may update and change our site from time to time to reflect changes to our services, users' needs, technology, law and business priorities.
We may suspend or withdraw our site
Our site is made available free of charge, although an entry fee is payable for paid competition entries. We do not guarantee that our site or any content on it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict availability for business, operational, maintenance, security or technical reasons.
Where an interruption affects a live Hunt, the Hunt will be dealt with in accordance with the Competition Terms & Conditions.
Our site is only for users in the United Kingdom
Our site and Hunts are directed to people residing in the United Kingdom. We do not represent that content available on or through our site is appropriate or available in other locations.
You must keep account and entry details safe
If you are given a private link, identifier, password or other information used to identify your entries or access a protected part of the site, you must treat it as confidential and must not deliberately use another person's access information.
If you know or suspect that somebody else has gained access to information that identifies your entries, contact hello@nationaltreasurehunt.co.uk.
How you may use material on our site
We are the owner or licensee of intellectual property rights in our site and in material published on it. Those works are protected by intellectual-property laws and all such rights are reserved.
You may print or download extracts for your personal use. You must not modify or commercially exploit a substantial part of our site or reproduce its design, software, graphics or original content without permission, except where the law permits it.
Do not rely on information on this site
General content on our site is provided for information only and is not intended to amount to legal, financial or other professional advice. Although we make reasonable efforts to keep information current, we do not guarantee that general content is complete or up to date.
The specific Hunt page and Competition Terms & Conditions govern participation in a Hunt.
We are not responsible for websites we link to
Where our site contains links to websites and resources provided by third parties, those links are provided for information or to provide services used by the site. They should not be interpreted as our approval of third-party content. We do not control those sites.
User-generated content is not approved by us
Squares may appear publicly using colours chosen by Entrants. User-selected colours, patterns and other user-generated material have not necessarily been verified or approved by us and do not represent our views.
You must not use site features to create unlawful, obscene, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, threatening or defamatory material, or content targeting an individual or group. We may hide or remove public-facing content that breaches these standards while preserving an underlying competition entry where reasonably possible. Serious or repeated misuse may also be dealt with under the Competition Terms.
Information about our use of cookies
Our use of cookies, browser identifiers and local storage is explained in our Privacy & Cookies Policy. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics profiling cookies. Blocking or clearing essential browser storage may affect site functionality.
Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Different limitations may apply to participation in a Hunt and are set out in the Competition Terms & Conditions.
Our site is provided for domestic and private use. We are not responsible for business losses arising from consumer use of the site.
Uploading or displaying content on our site
Where a feature allows you to upload, select or display content, including public Square colours or patterns, you must comply with the standards described above and any additional rules displayed on the site.
You retain ownership of content you provide, but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, reproduce and display it to the extent reasonably necessary to operate, moderate and promote the site and Hunts.
We are not responsible for viruses and you must not introduce them
We do not guarantee that our site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You must not knowingly introduce malicious or technologically harmful material, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or connected systems, interfere with its operation, or use automated tools to obtain an unfair advantage in a Hunt.
Rules about linking to our site
You may link to our home page in a fair and legal way that does not damage our reputation or suggest an association, approval or endorsement where none exists. You must not frame our site on another site without permission. We may withdraw linking permission where reasonably necessary.
